The Battle of Gallipoli had occurred in World War I in 1914, leaving thousands of people dead from each country that were involved. It was an outbreak of war between the United Kingdom (Allies) and Germany (Central Powers). The cause of Gallipoli was for the British to capture the Ottoman (Turkish) Empire and so that they could also secure their trading route with Russia. Britain needed a radical solution to their problems as they were stacked upon each other, therefore creating the messy Gallipoli Campaign. The consequences of Gallipoli have affected many countries including New Zealand and its people even until this very day, making it a significant event that will last a long time in New Zealand history.
